Strategic. Experienced. Diligent.
Michael Scott is a retired school superintendent with more than three decades of leadership experience in public education. After concluding his career in Oregon, he relocated to California approximately ten years ago, where he began working privately with a select number of school districts.
Rather than operating as a traditional consulting firm, Mike has built a boutique practice focused on helping districts solve one of the most common challenges in facilities planning: turning plans into action. Through his work, he observed that many districts invested significant time and resources into developing Facilities Master Plans, only to find the plans stalled before completion or left sitting on a shelf without a clear path to implementation.
His approach centers on identifying inefficiencies in the planning process, helping districts complete unfinished work, and developing practical implementation strategies that transform planning documents into actionable roadmaps. By working with only a handful of districts each year, Mike provides highly personalized guidance tailored to each district's unique needs, leadership team, and long-term facilities goals.
Known for his thoughtful, hands-on approach and deep understanding of school district operations, Mike focuses on helping districts bridge the gap between planning and execution, ensuring Facilities Master Plans become living documents that support informed decision-making, funding opportunities, and successful project delivery.
